Vancouver versus Belgrade- Who is barbarian now?

Two Canadian "stupid kids" are getting ready to destroy lives & homes in Libya

The day Canada unleashed the most savage bombing of Libya, one of the most savage riots erupted in Canadian city of Vancouver. Is there any connection? Are we preaching one thing at home, and doing another elsewhere? Probably and most certainly, we do. American filmmaker Michael Moore, in his most famous movie “Bowling for Columbine”, stated a very convincing parallel, as he said something along next lines: “While we teaching our kids, that violence is not acceptable, and that they should resolve differences among them peacefully, we go around the world waging wars on small and defenceless countries…” Mr. Moore then pointed to the audience next fact: The day “Columbine atrocity” occurred (American kids killing American kids); back in 1999; The most savage and deadliest NATO air raid was executed over defenceless Serbian cities, somewhere far away from home, in the Balkans…

Vancouver 2011: Barbaric acts by "stupid kids"?

Tripoli 2011: Canadian "stupid kids" (pilots) destroyed their home too?

The day Canada unleashed the most savage bombing of Libya, one of the most savage riots erupted in Canadian city of Vancouver. Is there any connection? Are we preaching one thing at home, and doing another elsewhere? Probably and most certainly, we do.

American filmmaker Michael Moore, in his most famous movie “Bowling for Columbine”, stated a very convincing parallel, as he said something along next lines: “While we teaching our kids, that violence is not acceptable, and that they should resolve differences among them peacefully- we go around the world waging wars on small and defenceless countries…”

Mr. Moore then pointed to the audience next fact: The day “Columbine atrocity” occurred (American kids killing American kids); back in 1999, The most savage and deadliest NATO air raid was executed over defenceless Serbian cities, somewhere far away from home, in the Balkans…

That is exactly where today lies the problem with  so-called Western civilisation. Double standards! Double standards in morality, in politics, in education, almost everywhere… Let’s not jump the gun yet. The Western civilization is still powerful and most influencing “civilization” in this world. Its power and influence lies in its military, financial and economical superiority to the rest of the world. And that’s where it ends too. The Western societies are not ruled by morality, not by ethics- but rather by money and autocratic governments, hiding behind the worn out phrase of  “democracy & free society”.

I remember, back in 2008 when Albanian separatists, encouraged and supported by Western powers, declared independence from Serbia (Of course, that never would happen if Western NATO countries did not launch the illegal war against Serbia in 1999, and then occupied this part of Serbian proper, pushing out of Kosovo over 300,000 Serbian civilians). The riot erupted in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Couple hundred thousands of angry patriots, young and old, poured on Belgrade ‘streets, to protest this violation of country’s sovereignty. The crowd immediately identified the instigators and the organizers of this illegal separatist’ act and the angry people attacked the Western embassies in Belgrade…

The Western media was quick to blame, not only Serbian government, but entire nation. The media frenzy with Serbian “savages, thugs, hooligans, criminals”, followed by demonization of entire Serbian people, was so obvious and ill intended- and in my opinion, with tacking to account its scale and malice, it could be only compared  to anti-Jewish Nazi propaganda, back in 1930-ies.

And here we are today, in Vancouver British Columbia, in Western Canada. Much more destruction, much more savagery and barbaric acts, city in ruins and flames- but almost nobody calls these culprits right name, and almost everybody is trying to downplay the event, blaming it on the dozens of hooligans. How come? Entire world witnessed thousands of young barbarians, obviously well fed, spoiled city “kids”, mostly from the middle class, or better off families, apparently entertained by this self-inflicted evil, and taking videos and pictures of own deeds, using the expensive electronic devices. Apparently, that all happened because their favourite hockey team lost the game.

Destroying entire city, stabbing and beating people, looting, burning cars… because one lousy hockey team lost the game? Where is this world going to end, or maybe is already ending, but nobody told us?

To conclude this parade of my thoughts… This Vancouver “event”, along many other similar that occurred within the “West hemisphere”- most powerful “event” for sure was the aftermath of Catherine hurricane and subsequent flooding in New Orleans, when “civilized” American people, after a couple of weeks without law and order, started beheading each others is just proving my theory that Western civilisation is not able to exist and co-exist as civilized society without money and autocratic “democratic” government.

Ironically- the Western powers not only are destroying the traditional values and morality in Third world countries, by aggressively spreading, through financial and economical means, and lately more and more frequently, through military means: the globalisation, “democratisation” and “free market” rules- in the same time they are destroying these values at home, by subjecting them to the corporate interests and to the rule of money.

How the other side of the coin (real face) of morality and humanity looks like, in a typical “double standard” Western society, we all were able to witness, a couple of days ago, on the Vancouver’ streets. This ugly face of Western society is the face of society where almost all traditional and family values are destroyed, and everything is subjected to the rule of money and law & order obedience. If one of these pillars is missing- the westerners become savages bigger than anybody else. We saw it in Vancouver, in New Orleans, in L.A, and many other places, time and time again. And as I said, the worst is yet to come…

So, is Vancouver really better than Belgrade?
